Vegetarian Dim Sum

About the Recipe

Vegetarian dim sum refers to a collection of small, bite-sized Chinese dishes traditionally served with tea (known as "yum cha"), where the fillings and ingredients are entirely plant-based.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cabbage

  • 1 bunch of Coriander (Finely Chopped)

  • 500 grams Vegetarian Ham(Diced)

  • 500 grams Vegetarian Ham Paste

  • 1 tbsp Seasame Oil

  • 5 tbsp Flour

  • 4 tbsp Glutinous Rice Flour

  • 1 tbsp Corn Flour

  • 1 tsp Five Spice Powder

  • 1 tsp Ground Pepper

  • Salt

  • Sugar

  • 1 Pack of Wonton Wrap

Preparation

Step 1


Slice cabbage finely.


Step 2


Add 1 tablespoon of salt, mix and leave it for 30 minutes.


Step 3


Then squeeze out the water from cabbage.


Step 4


Dice the vegetarian ham finely.


Step 5


Heat up the pan with 1 tablespoon of oil; fry the vegetarian ham until golden brown. Then stop the flame, leave it to cool.


Step 6


Add in cabbage, finely chopped coriander, vegetarian ham paste, flours, sesame oil and all other seasoning, then mix them evenly.


Step 7


Scoop 1 tablespoon of the mixture into a wonton wrap, and wrap it with the top open.


Step 8


Heat up the steamer until water is boiled.


Step 9


Place dim sims on steaming tray(s). Steam for 15 minutes. Ready to serve.
